Notice of Coaching Positions with S.I.H. Conference and Under 19 Team Pools for 2008
The Scottish Ice Hockey Programme is looking for coaches and assistant coaches for the following teams:
Conference Team Pools and the Under/19 National Team Pool
Scotland Under/11s
Scotland Under/13s
Scotland Under/15s
Scotland Under/17s
Successful candidates will work as part of the National Team Coaching Programme under National Head Coach, Kevin Doherty, but be mainly responsible for their appointed age level.
Qualifications
- Applicants should hold a valid Level 2 Licence or above (or the equivalent) and be suitably experienced at the level applied for.
- Attendance at recent Coaching Development Clinics, Seminars, Schools, etc., where current coaching methodology, philosophy and developments have been presented would be advantageous.
- Have an awareness of the Physical Literacy required for their age level.
Role
- Actively coach at on-ice sessions which will be on a regular cycle of four to six weeks.
- Develop technical skills, tactical skills, hockey sense, team tactics, etc.
- Co-operate with on-ice goaltending coach.
- Co-operate and liaise with off-ice coach.
- Be available to travel to club games and practices to scout and evaluate players.
- Have a willingness to assist at other S.I.H. practices.
